In the Black community, raising our youth has always been a shared responsibility. Long before modern programs and organizations existed, our grandmothers, uncles, neighbors, and church members all played a role in shaping our children. That spirit of collective care must remain alive today. When a young person knows that their entire community believes in them, holds them accountable, and celebrates their progress, it gives them the courage to rise above every challenge placed in their path.

Our boys and girls need role models who show them discipline, compassion, integrity, and leadership. They need safe places to grow and adults who refuse to give up on them.
